As an enthusiastic supporter of service user involvement in practice, research and education, I am also an advocate of person-centred care. Person-centred care recognises each person as a unique individual with their own preferences, values and life experiences. This forms the basis for empowerment and the way in which the person wishes to invest in their health and wellbeing and to actively participate in decisions about their care and treatment. I would like to join the ICoP to connect with like-minded professionals who share a passion for person-centred approaches in different areas and settings of health care. I want to share experiences and learn from the perspectives of others. Through participation in discussions, workshops and events, I hope to have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the advancement of person-centred approaches and improve outcomes for individuals and health care practice
